Advanced Power, with its joint development partner Acestes Ventures, developed 130 MW of distributed generation solar photovoltaic electric-generating facilities in Alberta, Canada. The three projects are located throughout southern Alberta near the towns of Coaldale, Monarch and Vulcan, respectively. We successfully sold the projects in February 2020 to a long-term owner and the projects are expected to be some of the first utility-scale solar generation facilities in the province.

Alina Energy is a proposed solar photovoltaic and battery storage electric-generating facility located in Wilson County, Texas. The project is expected to bring clean electric generation to the Texas market and serve the Greater San Antonio Area. The site is approximately 30 miles south of San Antonio and will employ bifacial solar panel technology provided by a Tier- 1 supplier and state-of-the-art battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026.

Calypte Solar is a proposed solar photovoltaic and battery storage electric-generating facility located in Graham County, Arizona. The project is expected to bring clean power to the Arizona electricity markets and serve the load centers of Phoenix and Tucson. The site is approximately 80 miles Northeast of Tucson and 140 miles Southeast of Phoenix and will employ bifacial solar panel technology provided by a Tier-1 supplier and state-of-the-art ac coupled battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027.

Carroll County Energy is an electric generation facility that uses clean-burning U.S. natural gas to produce power for American homes and businesses.  

The facility is a significant stimulus for the economy of Carroll County and surrounding communities.  The facility represents an important step forward in America’s transition to cleaner energy production while helping to move America towards energy independence.  The 77-acre site is approximately one-half mile east of Ohio 9 and 2.5 miles north of Carrollton. It is adjacent to Carroll County Community Improvement Corporation land that is designated for industrial and commercial development.

Carroll County Energy employs new state-of-the-art General Electric natural gas and steam turbine technology in a configuration known as “combined-cycle.” The facility is described as “efficient generation from a small footprint,” which is important in terms of providing for future energy needs with minimal environmental impact. The Project began commercial operations in December of 2017.

Cricket Valley Energy Center (CVEC) is a natural gas-fired power plant currently operational on an industrially zoned site off Route 22 in Dover, New York.

The fully-permitted facility currently generates approximately 1,100 MW of electricity, enough to power 1 million homes. The 193-acre property is surrounded by a substantial tree buffer that minimizes visual and noise impacts. The property repurposed an existing energy infrastructure, including electric power lines and a natural gas pipeline. The location was chosen to provide opportunity for economic revitalization, creating jobs and tax revenue for the Town of Dover.

CVEC is owned by a consortium of equity investors that include Advanced Power, TIAA/Nuveen, JERA, BlackRock, Development Bank of Japan, Showa Shell, and Kiwoom.  Ethos Energy Group is operating the facility and Advanced Power will continue its role in CVEC as an equity partner and asset manager during operations.

Cutlass Solar is a solar photovoltaic electric-generating facility located in Fort Bend County, Texas. The project is bringing power to the Texas electricity markets and serving the load centers of Houston and Freeport. The 700-acre site is approximately 40 miles southwest of Houston and employs bifacial solar panel technology provided by JA Solar. Cutlass Solar began operations in July 2022.

Advanced Power, together with its co-investors, ENEOS Corporation and Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd. are owners of the facility. SOLV Energy is operating the facility and Advanced Power will continue its role in Cutlass as an equity partner and asset manager during operations. 

Cutlass Solar II is a solar photovoltaic electric-generating facility located in Fort Bend County, Texas. The project was developed by Advanced Power to bring clean energy to the Texas electricity markets and serve the load centers of Houston and Freeport.

The 1,100-acre site is approximately 40 miles southwest of Houston. Cutlass Solar II was sold in October 2022 to Sabanci Renewables, a 100% subsidiary of Sabanci Holdings.

Dils-Energie, a 920 megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle power facility in Dilsen-Stokkem, Belgium, was developed by Advanced Power.

The project will be constructed on a 12.4-hectare parcel of land in the industrial area of Rotem approximately 3 km from the gas interconnection, 100 meters from a 380kV transmission interconnection, and about 300 meters from the project’s proposed water supply and discharge.

The project will be a modern, high-efficiency electricity generating facility, designed to serve the current and growing electricity demand of Belgium and guarantee the security of supply of the country. 

Utilizing advanced CCGT technology, the project will provide economic, reliable and environmentally advantageous electricity.

Dils-Energie is Advanced Power's second successful project development in Belgium, and was sold to RWE in 2021.  RWE is one of Europe's largest power and gas companies.  

East Light Capital Fund I was the inaugural investment for Advanced Power into a vehicle managed by East Light Partners. The mandate of Fund I is to originate and develop a portfolio of utility and community scale solar projects in Northeast US markets. Advanced Power’s capital commitment in Fund I, since June 2017, is $1million.

The East Light Partners (ELP) Team has successfully developed multiple projects through Fund I. One of the Fund’s most successful projects was ELP Stillwater Solar, a 20 MW utility-scale solar project on vacant land in Saratoga County, New York. In 2018, NYSERDA awarded ELP Stillwater Solar a REC contract through their annual procurement under the Clean Energy Standard. ELP Stillwater Solar has received all required permits and construction is currently underway. It is the first project in its cohort of awardees to enter construction.

East Light has also successfully developed numerous projects under NYSERDA’s community distributed generation program. Recent highlights include ELP Greenport Solar and ELP Kinderhook Solar, both 5 MW community solar projects located in Columbia County, New York.

Elio Energy is a proposed battery energy storage system located in Brazoria County, Texas. The project is expected to bring dispatchable and reliable power to the Texas electricity markets and serve the load centers of Houston and Freeport. The site is approximately 30 miles southwest of Houston and will employ state-of-the-art battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2025.

LafargeHolcim is the leading global building materials and solutions company serving masons, builders, architects, and engineers around the world. In August 2020, LafafgeHolcim’s cement plant based in Paulding, Ohio became the first LafargeHolcim operation in North America to harness wind energy, thanks to their partnership with Findlay, Ohio based wind energy company, One Energy.

This project with LafargeHolcim is part of One Energy’s Wind for Industry® business solution, which involves installing one or more large, utility-scale wind turbines on-site at a large industrial facility. The wind turbines are interconnected to the facility’s side of the meter, so the energy from the turbines goes directly to the facility without passing through the electrical grid. The wind project operates in parallel to the grid, so the industrial facility remains connected to the grid at all times.

These wind turbines at LafargeHolcim are anticipated to generate more than 12 million kWh annually and should eliminate more than 9,000 annual tons of carbon dioxide. To contribute to the community surrounding the Paulding cement plant, the project is creating three $5,000 Megawatt Scholarships (one per turbine) to be awarded each year the turbines are in operation. The scholarships will be given to local high-school graduates pursuing a two- or four-year degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subject.

Malženice Power Station, a 420 MW gas-fired combined-cycle electric generation facility located in Malženice, Slovakia, was developed by Advanced Power in partnership with Siemens Project Ventures. It was Advanced Power’s first successful project development, and was sold to E.ON in 2006. E.ON is one of Europe’s largest power and gas companies. It started commercial operations in January 2011. 

The current owner is Zapadoslovenska Energetika a.s., owned 51 percent by the Slovak State and 49 percent by E.ON (via its subsidiaries).  

The project is currently the biggest CCGT power plant located in Slovakia.

Maple Creek Energy is a proposed modern, highly efficient, natural gas electric generation facility located in Fairbanks township of Sullivan County, Indiana.

Upon completion, the facility’s state-of-the-art, combined-cycle turbine technology will produce 600 MW of electricity – enough to power more than 600,000 homes. Compared to a typical coal generating facility, Maple Creek reduces CO₂ emissions by nearly 65%, and by 35% when compared to traditional single-cycle natural gas generators.  The facility will create up to 550 construction jobs over the 2-3 year construction period as well as 19-20 full-time jobs once in operation. 

Oriana Solar is a proposed solar photovoltaic and battery storage electric-generating facility located in Victoria County, Texas. The project is expected to bring clean power to the Texas electricity markets and serve the load in Southeast Texas. The site is approximately 125 miles southwest of Houston and will employ bifacial solar panel technology provided by a Tier-1 supplier and state-of-the-art battery storage technology. 

Oriana Solar was sold in October 2023 to Sabanci Renewables, a 100% subsidiary of Sabanci Holdings.

Pinyon is a proposed battery energy storage system located in Matagorda County, Texas. The project is expected to bring dispatchable and reliable power to the Texas electricity markets and serve the load centers of Houston and Freeport. The site is approximately 70 miles southwest of Houston and will employ state-of-the-art battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026.

Rock Rose is a proposed battery energy storage system located in Fort Bend County, Texas. The project is expected to bring dispatchable and reliable power to the Texas electricity markets and serve the load centers of Houston and Freeport. The site is approximately 30 miles southwest of Houston and will employ state-of-the-art battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026.

South Field Energy is an electric generation facility that uses clean-burning U.S. natural gas to produce power for American homes and businesses.

The facility is a significant stimulus for the economy of Columbiana County and surrounding communities. It also represents an important step forward as America moves toward energy independence. The facility is located on fewer than 20 acres of land that is part of a 150-acre parcel approximately three miles from Wellsville.

South Field Energy, in partnership with GE Energy, employs highly flexible and efficient gas turbine technology. New-generation GE technology will make the facility one of the most efficient in the U.S. It will be fueled by clean natural gas. The facility began commercial operations in September 2021. 

Talitha Energy Project is a proposed solar photovoltaic electric-generating facility located in Jim Wells County, Texas. The Project is expected to bring clean electric generation to the Texas market and serve growing load for the Corpus Christi area. The 1,000 acre site is approximately 30 miles west of Corpus Christi and will employ bifacial solar panel technology provided by a Tier-1 supplier. The Project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2024.

T-Power, a 420 MW combined-cycle gas-fired power project at the Tessenderlo site in Belgium, was successfully developed by Advanced Power in partnership with Tessenderlo Chemie NV and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH. The project raised €436 million of project financing in the midst of a rapidly deteriorating economic climate, reaching financial close in December 2008.

Having achieved financing of the project, Advanced Power sold its stake in the T-Power project to International Power, then one of Europe’s leading independent power producers. The project began commercial operations in June 2011. Subsequent owners sold to Tessenderlo Chemie N.V. in 2018 .

The T-Power project won the 2009 Energy Risk Award for its tolling deal.

Verdin Solar is a proposed solar photovoltaic and battery storage electric-generating facility located in Pinal County, Arizona. The project is expected to bring clean power to the Arizona electricity markets and serve the load centers of Phoenix and Tucson. The site is approximately 30 miles Northwest of Tucson and 90 miles Southeast of Phoenix and will employ bifacial solar panel technology provided by a Tier-1 supplier and state-of-the-art ac coupled battery storage technology. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027.
